Owl, Bunny, and Birdie

Thursday, June 21, 2012
This custom order was inspired by Pottery Barn Kids' Catherine collection. (which, sadly, is no longer available. The outlets may possibly still carry it. )
I love how it turned out, especially the cute pudgy bunny.

Find it in my Etsy shop here!

Food Face Plate

Monday, June 11, 2012
I know I am not alone when I express the frustration I(we)  often face at the dinner table.  I have a very picky 3 year old and at times it seems like the only things he will eat are berries and cheese.  (which, I must admit, sounds delicious but let's face it is probably not the best or most well rounded meal of choice).
So here we are.. on a regular old Monday night... He actually ate his dinner!!!... ALL of it!!!.... Including the broccoli.
YIIPPPPEEEEE!!!!

How you wonder?.. (see below.)

He thought these plates were hillarious.  Fingers crossed that the excitement lasts for a little while.

My 6 year old also LOVES creating her own mini masterpieces on these plates.

These funny little plates can be found at Amazon or Uncommon Goods.

This past weekend we celebrated Mr. M's 3rd Birthday with a Bug Themed party.

We had the party at one of our favorite spots here in San Antonio, Two Bros. BBQ Market.
Great TX BBQ, a fun outside play scape, and a few close friends and family is all M needed to have a fun day!

Target:  small bug nets and magnifying glasses (dollar spot)

Dollar Tree: Large Orange
Target:  Orange Mesh Trash Can (dollar spot)

Party Masks:
Amazon:  Bug Party Masks

Cupcakes:
OK, these cupcake are semi homemade... As in.. I purchased the cupcakes at our local bakery and had the baker frost the green icing to look like grass.
I did make the bugs myself though.  There is a great tutorial in the book : Hello Cupcake.  Basically you pipe melted chocolate with a small tipped pasty bag on to parchment paper.  while the chocolate is still warm place different sized MMs as the bugs body.  Let set in fridge for 5 minutes and them place on cupcake.  They were surprisingly easy to make!

Look!  A hungry bug even took a bite out of the plate. :)

The Favors:

Target: Bug box, small net, magnifying glass, small bugs, bubbles, gummy worms
Dollar spot: Large GROW bug
